“When I first came to the Thrift Store, I was only there because I had to complete community service hours for school. I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect.
The people there welcomed me. They learned my name. They encouraged me and one volunteer even took the time to remind me that my future was bigger than my mistakes. What started as something I had to do became a place where I felt accepted, valued, and encouraged.
I thought I was there to serve others, and I did, but I received so much more. I’ll always be grateful for the kindness I experienced at Mansfield Mission Center. They didn’t just give me a place to volunteer, but they gave me hope and reminded me that people believe in me.”
